Introduction to botanical medicine
Discover how so many of the weeds you pull from your garden in frustration have medicinal compounds useful for many common health problems.
You’ll be introduced to the history of herbal medicine in England including the role two infamous kings played in its use and status (Henry VIII and James I). You’ll then be able to try some medicinal teas whilst you delve into the characteristics of different plant families (daisy, mint, parsley and rose) with a hand lens and discuss the medicinal compounds they contain as well as the conditions they are used to treat (from both traditional and modern perspectives).
“Thank you both for an incredibly interesting evening…”
