Herbology & Medicine Making workshop for children
Children get to explore the medicinal plants in our herb garden (through smell, touch and taste). They then break into small groups to learn about plants and identify the characteristics of different plant families e.g. daisy family, mint family with a hand lens and draw and label their favourite plant.
Round the kitchen table children can chose to make a lip salve or a sore muscle rub by melting bees wax in plant infused oils and adding essential oils. Children get to decorate their own pot of salve to take home.
The workshops are run by Medical Herbalist & Arvigo® therapy practitioner Victoria Kearns and Medical Herbalist & prize winning botanical medicine maker Pieter Meiring, who both have valid DBS certificates (previously CBR).
